Whenever something is written, it should be written with purpose. The author should never put half their brain or half their heart into it. A written work should be done whole heartedly. No one wants to read something that is boring and would put a child to sleep at night. If one does not want to read something tasteless, why write something tasteless. These are words that my writing has lived by and came to fruition from. Ever since grade school, I always saw myself trying to make my writing stand out. Whether it was trying to use big words that I wouldn't normally use in my everyday vocabulary or using figurative language, I put my all into my works. If there is an essay contest at school going on, chances are I'm not participating. I've never taken the writing section on the ACT. What I'm trying to say is that I don't normally go around looking for opportunities to write essays and papers. I usually let them come to me in the form of an assignment or a test. This doesn't necessarily mean that I don't like writing. I enjoy writing fictional stories about outlandish things. My sophomore year in English, we had to write in our journals everyday. If one were to look through my journal, all they would see would be stories about talking animals, giants, gods, and other things that don't exist. Writing fictional stories is a way for me to escape from this boring everyday life that we all share. When I write, I want to show my audience that my work is worth reading. I want my writings to be the books that are flying off the shelves at your local Barnes and Nobles. My professors will brag about me to their other classes and fellow teachers. My peers will remember me for the works I've written. They will try to learn to write like me, but it won't work because my writing comes from deep inside my heart. When they come up to me asking how I get the ideas for my writing assignments, I'll tell them it's all about the process. When I first get the directions I think nonstop about a topic that will keep the readers on their feet and also something I can get the most information out of. I then choose the very best of the best and I start to write immediately. I don't know if I'm truly a writer yet, but I'm on my way there and I will achieve my goal as long as I keep writing. When we write we find an untold story about ourselves that we wouldn't have discovered otherwise.
